About
About Shipglot
A QA gate for translation files, hosted AI translation in CI, and a web editor for the people who review translations.
What it is
Shipglot checks translation files the way a careful proofreader would: broken placeholders, ICU messages that do not parse, plural forms a language needs, dropped tags, missing keys and glossary terms, in 13 file formats. The checker is open source under Apache-2.0, runs in CI or on your machine, and needs no account.
Hosted translation, which is not open yet, translates new and changed keys from your repository, checks every result with the same gate, and gives reviewers an editor that writes back to your repository as a pull request.
How we run it
- The price depends on source keys and nothing else. Seats, languages, projects and features are unlimited on every band.
- Everything is charged upfront. We never send an invoice for usage after the fact.
- Models are chosen by measurement, not by name: a test battery scores them on real strings, and a routing file sets which model translates which language, with a fallback on another provider.
- No AI translation is written to your files until the gate has checked it.
- Shipglot never opens pull requests or issues on repositories that have not installed it.
- We say what is missing. There is no translator marketplace, no SAML single logout and no certification yet; the security page has the full list.
